The PISA staff at the Centres offer regular Open Citizen Sessions several times per week that can be joined by any member of the public. The sessions usually take two hours and tackle one specific topic per session. The topics chosen and methodologies employed are taken from a citizenship curriculum that seeks to impart knowledge of citizenship, democracy and good governance (for example on the heritage of Basotho as a nation, the constitution and political system of Lesotho, human rights, citizen’s responsibilities, amongst others) and through which citizens can acquire democratic competencies (such as critical thinking, forming a sound opinion and making informed choices).
